Write it down and lose weight
Try our Weight-Loss Tip of the Week!
Hold yourself accountable: In a 13-week study, dieters who kept a food record for 3 weeks or longer lost 3.5 pounds more than those who didn't, say researchers at the University of Arkansas. And over the long term, this strategy may be even more important for enhancing your results. "Keeping a detailed account of what you eat, even for a short period of time, helps you learn how to accurately estimate portion sizes.
If you write down everything you eat every week, it also lets you know what kind of foods you are pumping into your stomach. You might be surprised how much food you are actually eating. A healthy diet is one with lots of lean protein, fruits and vegetables with whole grains and dairy not fast food and potato chips!
So try writing down everything you eat or swallow for the next few weeks and see how it helps you.
